JOUR 412

Still looking for a spring class? Need to fulfill an Advanced Studies Core?  Want to read and watch video documentaries about famous journalists in American history?  Then sign up for “Biography as Journalism” (JOUR 412).

This new seminar studies America’s most interesting journalists—from printer Ben Franklin and abolitionist William Lloyd Garrison to muckrakers Ida B. Wells and Tarbell; from publishers William Randolph Hearst and Katharine Graham to a crack-smoking New York Times reporter.

Hear from writers about how they put their biographies together, and take a field trip to the Newseum and National Archives.

This fun, popular course meets Tuesdays 9:00-11:45 am in 3200 Knight Hall.

The professor’s bio is posted at www.merrill.umd.edu/directory/mark-feldstein  and you can email him directly at Prof.Feldstein@gmail.com
