Employers participate in our daily rotation by providing career advice to students, in a 1-on-1 setting, on issues ranging from resume assistance to answering the question "how do I get a job like yours?” Come learn about ways you can improve your skills and get feedback from industry professionals about what they look for in a candidate.

White House Internship Program: Employer Networking and Information Session

The White House Internship Program provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable professional experience and build leadership skills. This hands-on program is designed to mentor and cultivate today’s young leaders, strengthen their understanding of the Executive Office and prepare them for future public service opportunities. The White House Internship Program’s mission is to make the “People’s House” accessible to future leaders from around the nation. The application period for the Fall 2012 White House Internship Program is now open. Applicants have until April 1, 2012 to apply for a Fall 2012 White House Internship. The American Enterprise Institute, a preeminent think-tank in Washington, DC, is a community of scholars and supporters committed to expanding liberty, increasing individual opportunity, and strengthening free enterprise. AEI pursues these unchanging ideals through independent thinking, open debate, reasoned argument, facts, and the highest standards of research and exposition. Our purpose is to serve leaders and the public through research and education on the most important issues of the day in the areas of economics, culture, politics, foreign affairs, and national defense. AEI's work is addressed to government officials and legislators, teachers and students, business executives, professionals, journalists, and all citizens interested in a serious understanding of government policy, the economy, and important social and political developments. The American Enterprise Institute seeks a full-time program assistant to support AEI’s Education Policy Studies department, which works to promote policy solutions to K-12 and higher education problems.
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide administrative assistance to the Director and to manage the daily operations of the program. This includes duties such as scheduling, trip planning, record keeping, financial tracking, and copy editing. He/she will also coordinate the program’s popular event series, as well as high-level private meetings. Tasks may also include research, writing, editing, and public relations.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate works well in a team and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills. The ability to multi-task and work well under pressure is also required, as well as a demonstrated interest in education policy. Qualified candidates should submit a resume, cover letter, and 500-word writing sample with their application.
