Political Science Internship with Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group


Editorial Internship

The Acquisitions Department at Rowman and Littlefield Publishers, Inc. is looking for an intern to work closely with political science acquisitions team. This is an unpaid internship, but it presents an invaluable opportunity to earn college credit, gain hands-on experience with the editorial process of academic political science books and to learn about the publishing industry in general. R&L is fully committed to supporting a learning environment in which the intern will be able to experience and participate in many aspects of the publishing process. Ideally we are looking for a time commitment of 10-12 hours a week for 3 months, and we can work with the scheduling needs of the intern.

Projected start date: May/June 2012
Projected end date: August 2012

Intern responsibilities may include:
- Writing/editing copy for the website or book covers
- Researching book cover images
- Researching political science blogs, journals, reviews, professors, etc.
- Reviewing proposals, managing the peer review process, drafting review summaries
- Soliciting and editing endorsements for upcoming books
- Corresponding with authors
